You need a fair bit of backlinks but you also need quality backlinks. Websites have a Page Ranking, the higher the page ranking, the more link juice they can give you.

You can find sites with high Page Rank and leave a valuable comment with your website link. Find sites with traffic you are looking for.

You need to have quantity and quality traffic. Keep doing this and your traffic will go up.
