How To Become A Better Problem Solver?

A while back I knew of someone, we’ll call him “Mr. Gripe”.  He would always start griping about all the crap in his life.  He’d talk about all the people who had mistreated him.  All the lost opportunities he wished he had taken and how much he hated his 2 jobs.  There was no end to it.  He was complaining that he hated his life and he made that very clear.

Have you ever met people like that?  The “Mr. Gripes of life”?  They’re very unattractive.  They ooze out negativity.  They’re never happy and chances are they’ll be stuck working at the same petrol station for most of their lives.

Thankfully, not everyone is like that.  There are also the problem solvers.  These people aren’t phased by the crap that comes their way.  They always find a way to improve, to solve their problems and to enjoy their lives.  They end up happier for it, wealthier, more loved, more skilled, more attractive and more full of life.

Do you want to know the simple truth that once understood makes you a problem solver?  Here it is: It may not be my fault but it is my responsibility.  Mr. Gripe couldn’t move past the fact that it wasn’t his fault.  He spent his whole life pointing fingers and complaining instead of fixing things.  He’s probably still working the same job in the same store with the same problems.

The only way to move beyond crap is to take responsibility for it.  To recognize that though something may not be your fault, it’s still your responsibility to deal with it since it’s your life.  Make sense?  It may not be your fault but it is your responsibility.

Try applying the truth to your job.  Are you happy with your job?  Is it meeting all of yours and your family’s needs and desires?  If it’s not doing that, you have options.  You can spend your time pointing fingers and dreading your work every day or you can take responsibility and make a change.

Click here if you’re ready to do the latter.
